Is it possible to own “too” many coffee brewing methods? “Never!” says the caffeine enthusiast! Espresso, milk frother, pour over, drip, bean grinder, all just tools of the trade.
I want to walk into my kitchen and be able to brew up a cup of jo that would compare to what I could find at a coffee shop. Some days I want a clean cup so I might grab for my Chemex. Other days I want the taste that only a french press can give me. Then of course, more often than not, I need a cup of coffee before I can even make the cup of coffee. Its almost like I need it bedside before my feet touch the ground.
Is there any better way to enjoy a conversation with friends than over coffee? Maybe you and your best mom pals are rounding up your crew for a playdate, isn’t it always better enjoyed with an iced latte?
I was chatting with a friend, over coffee of course, about how even just having a new syrup or creamer to try makes me excited to get up and make breakfast and start my day.
You guys have to remember I have two little ones and two furbabies so mornings can be total chaos. Sometimes I even come downstairs before the little people rise from their slumber and enjoy a cup by myself in the quiet. Mercy, let me tell you that can make for a much more productive and enjoyable morning!
Pair some peace and quiet with a home-brewed americano, add some toffee nut syrup enjoyed in the word and mommas, it might shock you as to how much less yelling you do. Just sayin’.
Bad, and relatively coffee bourgeois
One of my life friends flew out to visit and we laughed over her admitting to the fact her coffee standards were significantly less than what they were before kids. I jokingly (yet very seriously) suggested mine were still as bourgeoisie as ever. I would even go as far as saying that coffee can even taste better when sipped from the perfect mug. Height, weight, and handle to mug ratio is of utmost importance. I think I get my obsession from my dad. My dad travels for work a lot and he is known to scour antique shops till he finds the most perfect cup. He may visit 35 shops and hold 105 cups before he find the perfect one. Whenever I go home to visit we always fight over the same mugs. I am my father’s child. Hardheaded, hardworking and particular about coffee mugs.
Its Fall Ya’ll
Now we couldn’t talk coffee without covering my favorite season and that is fall. August 28th ushers in a momentous occasion and that my friends is the yearly debut of PSL and fall flavors. Get your happy dance on. Soon ill be heading down to Disneyland as they Fall decorations at the park. Plus I can’t miss my opportunity of getting a mug from Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party! Now it is officially time to hit up Trader Joes and buy all the pumpkin things and decorate for Halloween. Anyone with me?
