When Thanksgiving rolls around, we are all forced to sit down and reflect on the previous year and our life in general. It is a unique time just to be present. Despite the hustle and bustle of everyday life, not to mention a week’s worth of food prep for this particular holiday, reflection is paramount.
These particular last few months for me have left me in the dust. As I mentioned in a previous post, this move and the first portion of my second pregnancy on top of having a toddler have had me struggling to stay afloat. Since we have moved into our house, it has been a complete construction zone. We have redone the entire kitchen leaving me with zero access along with new laundry area and bathrooms. The piles of dirty laundry alone would make a person insane. I vow, for the second time, to never live through a renovation.
All crazy aside, I’m so thankful for this “crazy” and upside down portion of my life. Through the IVF treatments to the move and this insane season of my life, I have to reflect positivity to grow and become stronger for my next season. This April I will become a mom to another sweet baby girl. For now, I am so pumped to be “eating for two” this Thanksgiving. These maternity jeans will be a Godsend at twenty weeks pregnant and two plates of turkey and dressing.
Luke 14:10-11
But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
