The Eagle Has Landed

Well after two weeks that have been nothing short of a blur, we are making life happen on the West Coast. A cross country flight with six overweight checked luggage bags; three carry-on items, two dogs, and a toddler we finally reached our destination exhausted, but in one piece. Let me quickly give a necessary shout-out the champ who I am lucky enough to call mom. I would not have maintained a single ounce of sanity or composure had my mom not been my travel companion. I was so happy to have her with me for my first week getting adjusted. I have been nothing short of a mess the second I dropped her off at the airport. I’m currently plotting her one-way ticket back out here.

Missing our family takes a big chunk out of my heart. Madison has been on Facetime with her her Nonnie. She just sits on the floor for hours talking with her, laughing and giggling. It still breaks my heart; I cry almost every time she asks where they are.

During our few weeks here we have checked out our new home, visited daddy, toured his office, started swim lessons and school is right around the corner for Madison. Truthfully it’s been an overwhelming couple of weeks but all the while exciting. We have already met some incredible people that are going to be part of our life, and we truly are happy to be here. I am so thankful for the families that came before me and have offered up groceries, rides to the airport and play dates complete with pizza picnics to help us adapt to our new norm. We are so thrilled to be part of such an incredible work organization and group of people here in California. While I am missing my family, we are excited about whats ahead.
